# Joining through a quick link

A quick link provides you with a shortcut to a specific Session. You can recognize a quick link through its address, which has the following structure:

`https://app.engagevr.io/quicklink/<session_id>/join`

To join Session through a quick link, complete the following steps:

1. Click or tap the quick link to go to the web page.
2. If required, log in to your ENGAGE account.

{% hint style="info" %}
After you visit the web page, the option to join the Session in ENGAGE remains active for one hour. If it expires and you want to reactivate it, restart from Step 1.
{% endhint %}

3. Open the ENGAGE application on your device, and then log in.
4. In the prompt that appears on the menu screen, select **Join now** to go to the Session.

{% hint style="info" %}
If you don't want to join the Session immediately, select **Cancel** in the prompt. The prompt will close and a flag icon will appear in the upper-right corner of the menu screen. When you want to join the Session, select the flag icon to re-open the quick link prompt.
{% endhint %}

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://docs.engagevr.io/engage/sessions/joining-a-session/joining-through-a-quick-link.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
