# Creating a loop

You can use the **Skip to Time** IFX to create a loop in your experience. This IFX jumps the playback to a different part of your timeline. You can create a loop by continuously jumping back to an earlier point on the timeline.

{% hint style="info" %}
You can also attach a Skip to Time IFX to buttons and other triggers so that users can jump out of a loop. For more information, see the [Design patterns](/engage/experience-editor/overview/design-patterns.md#segmented) design pattern.
{% endhint %}

## Adding a Skip to Time IFX to an experience

1. From the panel on the left-hand side, select <img src="/files/IoOEPZLPOKWyDb5ynAZd" alt="" data-size="line"> **IFX**.
2. From the library of IFX, select **Skip to Time (Lesson Seek)**.
3. Place the IFX in the environment. Its position isn't important.

## Creating a loop

1. Decide which points on the timeline will be the start and end of the loop.
2. Place the **Skip to Time** IFX at the point on the timeline that will be the end of the loop.
3. Access the effect options for the **Skip to Time** IFX.
4. In the **TIME VALUE** field, enter the timestamp for the start of the loop.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://docs.engagevr.io/engage/experience-editor/playback-events/creating-a-loop.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
