# Creating a metaworld

A metaworld is an organization's presence in ENGAGE LINK. Each metaworld is a collection of one or more publicly accessible persistent Sessions. For each persistent Session, an organization can choose from a wide variety of location templates or develop custom environments. They can also configure the permissions that users have in each persistent Session.

An organization can choose to install a portal in the most appropriate plaza that leads to one of their persistent Sessions.
