# Ungrouping a snapshot

The control menu for a snapshot has the same options as other types of object. For more information, see [accessing-the-control-menu](https://docs.engagevr.io/engage/advanced-features/modifying-objects/accessing-the-control-menu "mention"). However, the control menu for a snapshot includes an additional option to ungroup the snapshot.

After you load a snapshot, all of the IFX that were saved in that snapshot are grouped together and treated as a single object. To ungroup the snapshot so that you can interact with each IFX as a separate object, complete the following steps:

1. Access the control menu for the snapshot.
2. **Optional**: If you want all of the IFX in the snapshot to be in a shared state after you ungroup them, on the control menu, select **SHARE**.
3. On the control menu, select **UNGROUP**.
