# Creating a sticky note from a keyboard shortcut

If you use ENGAGE on a Windows or macOS computer, you create sticky notes through a keyboard shortcut. To create a sticky note, complete the following steps:

1. On a Windows computer, press the **F2** key. On a macOS computer, press **Fn** + **F2**. The sticky note panel appears.

2. Type the text that you want to add to the sticky note.
3. **Optional**: Select a background color from the circles at the top of the sticky note panel.
4. Select the tick icon to create a sticky note.
5. Place the sticky note in the environment.
