# Zooming and panning

The editor panel features a combined zoom and pan scroll bar. In a timeline or dope sheet view, you zoom and pan with the horizontal scroll bar. In the curves view, you can also zoom and pan with the vertical scroll bar.

* To zoom in, drag one of the end grips closer to the other.
* To zoom out, drag one of the end grips away from the other.

## Zooming and panning on a desktop device

* To zoom, position the mouse cursor over the timeline panel, and then use the mouse scroll wheel. The mouse cursor determines the center of the zoom. For example, if you want to zoom in on an object container, place the mouse cursor over it before you use he scroll wheel.
* To pan, position the mouse cursor over the timeline panel, and then use the left mouse button to drag.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://docs.engagevr.io/engage/experience-editor/user-interface/the-editor-panel/zooming-and-panning.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
