# User interface

The main environment for the Experience Editor is a location of your choosing. The list of available locations that you can choose from is the same as when you create a Session. However, instead of the standard menu or tablet that you would use in a Session, the main interface in the Experience Editor is the editor panel.

The appearance of the editor panel depends on the device that you use. On desktop devices, the editor panel appears in the lower half of the window. On VR devices, you interact with the editor panel on a tablet. For more information, see [The editor panel](/engage/experience-editor/user-interface/the-editor-panel.md).

The way that you move around when in the Experience Editor is also different to how you would move around in a Session. For more information, see [Controls](/engage/experience-editor/user-interface/controls.md).
