# Working with objects

When you add something to the timeline, it's referred to as an object. This includes recordings, IFX, triggers, snapshots, interactive objects, and forms. The majority of object types have a physical representation in the environment, but some, such as forms, exist only on the timeline.

The following sections describe common ways of working with objects, as well as specific features of the different object types.
