To access user preferences, complete the following steps:
In a Session, open your menu or tablet.
From the side menu, select Settings .
On the Settings page, select User Preferences.
The following table describes settings that you can adjust on the User Preferences page. Many of the settings persist between Sessions so you need to set your preference only once.
Free movement
VR only Turn on to use the left thumbstick or trackpad to walk. For more information, see .
On-screen button visibility
Desktop only Turn off to hide the microphone, emoji, and menu buttons that are displayed on desktop devices. For example, if you want to record a video of your screen and don't want the buttons to appear in the video.
Wrist controls
VR only Turn off to hide the wrist controls. For more information, see .
Finger tracking
Valve Index VR headset only Turn on to enable finger tracking on Valve Index controllers. Your avatar's fingers will then mimic the movements of your fingers. This is an experimental feature.
Inverted Mouselook
Desktop only Turn on to reverse the direction of movement when you use the mouse to look around. When turned on, your view will move in the opposite direction to your mouse movements.
Pause Notifications / Resume Notifications
Use to control whether notifications appear in view. For example, when somebody begins to record you or you will be summoned. For more information, see .
Voice Recognition Language
Select the language that you want to use for voice recognition. For example, when you speak to an AI character. The list is limited to regional variations of the current application language.
Microphone
Desktop only Select the microphone input that you want to use in ENGAGE.
Reset Audio
If you encounter audio issues in ENGAGE, you can select this option to attempt to resolve them. For example, if other users cannot hear you speak.
