# Choose an appropriate avatar

When you create a recording, it captures your avatar’s appearance. We will choose an appearance that's appropriate to the activity.

1. On the menu screen, select **My Avatar**.
2. Choose one of the following options:
   * If you have not used your full quota of avatars, select **Create**, select some initial settings for your avatar, select **Generate Avatar**, and then select **Customize**.
   * If you have used your full quota of avatars, choose an existing avatar, and then select **Edit**.
3. Select **Outfits**.
4. Select a firefighter’s outfit.

5. Select **Exit**, and then select **Save & Continue** in the confirmation prompt.
6. On the avatar selection page, select **Save & Continue**.
