# Persistent and commercial Sessions

When all hosts leave a standard Session, it's deleted. Any changes made in that Session are lost. In persistent and commercial Sessions, changes are saved between visits.

* Persistent Sessions are intended to be used for internal activities within your group. For example, team meetings, ideation, teaching classes, or delivering internal training. Because of this internal focus, the number of LITE users that can join a persistent Session is limited. For more information, see [LITE user limits in persistent Sessions](/enterprise/enterprise-admin-portal/group-sessions/persistent-sessions/lite-user-limits-in-persistent-sessions.md).
* Commercial Sessions are intended to be used for ENGAGE-wide or public-facing activities. For example, product launches, graduation ceremonies, promotional experiences, free concerts, or open days. In a commercial Session, there's no limit on the number of LITE users that can join - other than the standard maximum capacity of 70 people.

For added security, you can allow only group members to access a group's persistent Sessions. For more information, see the **Restrict to Group Members only** setting in [Group page tabs](/enterprise/enterprise-admin-portal/managing-groups/group-page-tabs.md).
{% endhint %}

For more information about how you can create and manage persistent and commercial Sessions, see the following sections.
