# Creating a subgroup

If you have an owner or administrator role in a top-level group, and the **Allow Subgroups** option is enabled for that group, you can create a subgroup.

1. Go to <https://app-eap.engagevr.io/>, and then log in.
2. From the menu, select **Groups**.
3. Select the name or the **View** icon for the group.
4. Select the **Subgroups** tab, and then select **Create Subgroup**.

When you create a subgroup, you must enter the information identified as editable in [Group page tabs](/enterprise/enterprise-admin-portal/managing-groups/group-page-tabs.md#details) and [Group page tabs](/enterprise/enterprise-admin-portal/managing-groups/group-page-tabs.md#settings). The parent group field is automatically selected.

* After you enter all the required information, select Create Group.

{% hint style="warning" %}
Any user quota that you assign to a subgroup is instantly deducted from the quota of the parent group.
{% endhint %}

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://docs.engagevr.io/enterprise/enterprise-admin-portal/managing-subgroups/creating-a-subgroup.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
